Palestinian medical sources reported that the Israeli army has imposed a tight blockade on Al-Hilu International Hospital in Gaza City since Sunday evening, targeting it with a barrage of artillery shells, despite dozens of patients and displaced people inside. The Palestinian news agency "Wafa" quoted sources as saying that Israeli forces are surrounding the hospital from all directions, with tanks approaching its perimeter, leading to medical crews and patients gathering on the lower floors, while access to or departure from the hospital remains impossible.

Sources explained that the hospital contains several vital departments, including an oncology ward and a nursery with 12 cases of premature infants. The number of people trapped inside exceeds 90, including medical staff and patients, amid a complete communication and internet blackout.

In the context of escalation, Reuters reported that Israeli tanks continue their advance toward central Gaza City, with the ground attack ongoing hours before talks expected to bring together Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and U.S. President Donald Trump. Trump hinted at the possibility of a diplomatic breakthrough to end the war.

These developments come after two years of unsuccessful diplomatic efforts, with the United States last week presenting a 21-point plan to Arab and Muslim countries calling for a permanent ceasefire and the release of held hostages. Trump, who expressed last week his belief that an agreement to end fighting is near, announced his intent to achieve a "distinguished accomplishment" during his meeting with Netanyahu, amid ongoing escalation in Gaza.
