YouTube.. Pays Trump $24.5 Million.. What's the Story?

YouTube, a subsidiary of Google, confirmed that it will pay $24.5 million to settle a lawsuit filed by former U.S. President Donald Trump, related to the suspension of his account on the platform in 2021 following the January 6 attack on the Capitol building.
Documents submitted to the federal court in California revealed that $22 million of the settlement amount will be allocated to the "Trust for the National Mall" fund to help finance the construction of the official White House celebration hall. The remaining amount will be distributed among several plaintiffs, including the American Conservative Union.
This settlement is the latest deal between Trump and major tech companies, following lawsuits he filed against them. In January, Meta Platforms (formerly Facebook) agreed to pay $25 million to settle a similar lawsuit related to Trump's account suspension in 2021, and the platform X (formerly Twitter) agreed to pay $10 million to settle a similar lawsuit against it.
