The Voice of the Iranian People: A Cry for Justice and Dignity
تيسير كريشان

For a long time, I have closely followed, as a Jordanian citizen and former parliamentarian, the great struggle of the Iranian people against oppression and tyranny. This people has suffered for decades under oppressive regimes, whether it was the monarchical dictatorship supported by external forces to protect their interests or the current religious regime that continues its policy of suppression and marginalization. These regimes, which relied on force rather than the will of the people, planted seeds of resentment within the souls and ignited the spirit of resistance in the hearts of Iranians, who continue today their struggle to restore their dignity and freedom.

Popular Resistance Challenging Tyranny

The will of the Iranian people is expressed through their ongoing uprisings against the ruling regime, which has failed to achieve justice or stability. In this context, Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, the elected leader of the National Council of Resistance of Iran, stated in a speech before the European Parliament on June 18, 2025, that Iran is approaching a moment of historic transformation. She said: “The Iranian people are determined to end the rule of the religious dictatorship, and they are more determined than ever to bring about change.” These words reflect the pulse of the Iranian street, which refuses to submit and demands its right to self-determination.

In her messages to protesters in European capitals such as Berlin and Stockholm, Rajavi emphasized the importance of recognizing the Iranian resistance as a liberation force, affirming that the solution to the Iranian crisis does not lie in negotiations with the regime or igniting wars, but in supporting the Iranian people to overthrow the regime with their own hands. She added: “The Iranian resistance, which has made tremendous sacrifices over four decades, represents the voice and aspirations of the people for freedom.”

A Vision for a Democratic Future

The Iranian resistance strives to build a state based on principles of justice and equality, where religion is separated from the state, and human rights and ethnic diversity are respected. Mrs. Rajavi proposed a ten-point program that includes the abolition of the death penalty, ensuring judicial independence, and Iran’s commitment to abandon nuclear weapons. This vision is not merely slogans but a roadmap for a democratic Iran seeking peace and cooperation with regional countries.

On the ground, resistance units carried out thousands of protests over the past year, while the number of executions reached unprecedented levels, revealing the brutality of the regime. Nevertheless, these protests, which Mrs. Maryam Rajavi described as “unique worldwide,” affirm the Iranian people's resolve to continue their struggle.

The Policy of Appeasement as an Obstacle to Change

As Arabs, we see that Western support for the mullah regime, whether through silence or appeasement, has contributed to prolonging this regime’s life. This policy has not only increased the suffering of the Iranian people but also threatened regional stability by supporting militias that have destabilized the security of countries like Iraq, Syria, and Lebanon. Supporting the struggle of the Iranian people is a necessary step toward regional stability, and the international community must recognize the right of this people to resist oppression.

An Appeal for Arab-Iranian Solidarity

From our Arab perspective, we call for solidarity with the Iranian people in their just struggle. The victory of this people will not be theirs alone but will belong to all the peoples of the region who aspire to live in peace and dignity. Therefore, we call on the international community to abandon the policy of appeasement and recognize the right of the Iranian people to establish a democratic regime reflecting their aspirations. Let us work together for a region free from tyranny and weapons of mass destruction, where justice and cooperation prevail among our peoples, with development and prosperity reigning...
