A security operation dismantles "ISIS" cells in eastern Deir ez-Zor countryside

Special units affiliated with the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), with support from the international coalition, carried out a security operation targeting ISIS cells in the villages of Bureika and Al-Sabha in eastern Deir ez-Zor countryside. The operation resulted in the arrest of three ISIS members on Wednesday.
According to available information, the detainees are accused of carrying out attacks against civilians and military personnel in areas controlled by the SDF, in addition to their involvement in destabilizing security and inciting chaos in the region. They were also found to be in possession of weapons and ammunition.
During the operation, widespread military movements were witnessed in the eastern Deir ez-Zor countryside, coinciding with the start of a joint security operation between the SDF and the international coalition to pursue ISIS cells. In this context, successive explosions were heard in the town of Al-Shuhayl as a result of the security operation against the cells.
Forces also raided in the town of Abreeha, where they arrested a member of the so-called "Desert Army," amid heavy security deployment in the area. This operation comes after a large military convoy of the SDF arrived at the outskirts of eastern Deir ez-Zor, especially around Al-Shuhayl. Data indicates that the campaign targets ISIS cells in the areas of Al-Ta’al, Al-Shuhayl, and Al-Tiyan.
The Deir ez-Zor region remains one of the most active areas for ISIS in northern and eastern Syria, where terrorist groups continue to carry out scattered attacks against civilians and military personnel, reflecting the serious security challenges in the region.
