A video circulating on social media has caused intense anger in Lebanon, showing a violent assault on a Syrian child inside a barber shop in Zgharta district, North Lebanon. The footage captures the moment the child is severely beaten by the shop owner and two of his friends, who sit around him aggressively.

The video depicts the shop owner along with his friends, with one of them slapping the child hard and another pushing him so that the first hits him in the stomach, causing the child to fall to the ground and hit his head against a chair inside the shop. According to information from social media users, the child works at the shop, adding a painful dimension to the incident.

Following the video's spread, security forces acted swiftly, with the information division of the Internal Security Forces identifying the perpetrators and detaining them after obtaining judicial approval. Later, they were released on residence bonds.

Social media users, especially activists and tweeters, widely reacted to the incident, with many stressing the need to punish the attackers with the harshest penalties. They viewed the authorities' release of the suspects on residence bonds as a sign of disregard for children's rights.

Many commenters described the scene as "humiliating" and "painful for humanity," emphasizing that disagreements or mistakes do not justify beating a child so brutally. Human rights advocates and activists from human rights organizations called for increased oversight of places where children work and stricter enforcement of laws protecting minors, in order to safeguard children's rights and ensure their safety.
