Al Ahly Requests Foreign Referees for the Upcoming Cairo Derby

Today, Monday, Al Ahly Club sent an official letter to the Egyptian Football Association, requesting confirmation of the highly anticipated Cairo derby match against Zamalek, scheduled for tomorrow, Tuesday, along with the necessity of having a foreign refereeing crew.
This match, set to take place tomorrow evening at Cairo Stadium, is the first in the phase of crowning and qualifying for continental tournaments within the context of the Egyptian Premier League.
In the letter published on its official website, Al Ahly emphasized the importance of the Football Association and the Professional Clubs Association fulfilling their responsibilities to ensure the success and continuity of the competition under fair conditions.
The club also mentioned that it had received information from reliable sources indicating that the Professional Clubs Association had informed the Football Association that it would cover the financial costs necessary for bringing in foreign referees.
Al Ahly reviewed in its letter previous memorandums submitted to the Football Association, calling for improvements to the refereeing system to avoid mistakes that could affect match results, but expressed regret over the lack of progress in this regard.
In conclusion, Al Ahly expressed its concern about the insufficient coordination between the Football Association and the Professional Clubs Association, which threatens the achievement of justice and the principle of equal opportunities in the upcoming derby match.
