And You Are the Highest...
معراج أحمد معراج الندوي

Faith is the power of creation and the creation of strength, the spirit of life and the life of the soul. Faith is the factory of heroism and the accomplisher of miracles. In one word, faith is a necessity for human life. Muslims draw all of this from victory and triumph through faith. They derive their strength and hope from their belief in Allah and their trust in Allah’s victory. Faith renews their bravery and determination, strengthens their will, awakens their spirits, stirs their ambitions, supports them, steadies their steps, and encourages them to continue on the path and confront enemies.

Faith is what unleashes the latent energies within the Muslim nation. It propels the community with the conviction in Allah to create wonders, forge heroism, and produce masterpieces—as we have seen in past history and in current reality.

The sacrifices, heroism, glory, and the flowing streams of conquests achieved by Muslims throughout history are, in fact, ripples emanating from a single spring—springing from faith. From this vast, infinite ocean—that is faith—waves meet at a unified beach, which is the beach of faith. Every pride in Islamic history has a window overlooking the sea of faith, with a touch of the secret of faith.

Faith is always the fuel of victory. Faith is the precursor to triumph in every battle. Faith is the magical key to the gates of conquests. Faith is our overflowing spring of strength at all times. It is a lethal weapon against enemies. Faith is what fills the blood with energy, bravery, and power. This is the faith that drives the Muslim to sacrifice his wealth and comfort for peace and humanity.

Faith comes as a supernatural force residing within a person, appearing especially in moments of hardship and adversity. It appears to realize the impossible, accomplish the difficult, break barriers, and shatter dams, enabling humans to reach their goals, dreams, and ambitions. Faith acts as a real driving force that grants its bearer strength and courage, clothes him in the garments of victory and the ability to bring about change for the better, and empowers him to confront any event—regardless of how great the danger or how severe the situation—ultimately defeating and overcoming it.

Faith helps in overcoming crises and the difficulties of life. It bestows upon the Muslim a sense of hope and reassurance that problems will subside. It also provides strength in facing challenges, patience, and perseverance through hardships. Faith is one of the main components in shaping the future.

Faith is what grants a person security and confidence that everything proceeds by the will and wisdom of Allah. This is faith—it makes him feel he is not alone. Belief in Allah frees a person from servitude to material things and people, granting him dignity and inner strength. A faithful person fears no one but Allah. Faith makes a person more patient and capable of facing life's difficulties.

Faith is not merely a religious feeling; it is a power that gives endurance and perseverance regardless of life's hardships. This inner strength, stemming from trust in Allah and certainty, enables a person to stand firm against crises. If we seek social cohesion, there can be no cohesion without brotherhood, and no brotherhood without faith. If we aim for victory over false enemies, there can be no victory without heroes; no heroism without sacrifice; and no sacrifice without faith.
