Arrest of Brigadier General Salem Dagistani on War Crimes Charges

The Ministry of Interior announced that the General Security Department in the city of Latakia successfully arrested retired Brigadier General Salem Dagistani, the former head of the investigation branch of the Air Force Intelligence, following a meticulous security operation. He is charged with involvement in war crimes and severe human rights violations.
Dagistani has held several high-ranking security positions, including the head of the investigation department at Sednaya Military Prison, which is known for extensive human rights abuses. He also chaired the security committee in the Eastern Ghouta region during the period known as the "reconciliation file," where human rights reports indicate his involvement in suppression and mass arrests.
The Ministry of Interior confirmed that the accused has been referred to the Public Prosecution to complete the necessary legal procedures.
