Cultural Tanour Celebrates “We Love You, Naima” in Finland with the Participation of Sana’a Al-Shalaan

Tampere, Finland: The Finnish-Arab cultural center, Tanour, headed by the Iraqi expatriate writer Abbas Dahel Hassan, announced the launch of the book “We Love You, Naima: By the Pens of Those Who Knew Her and Loved Her” in the city of Tampere, the center's headquarters, with an elite presence from the Arab community there and literature enthusiasts from the Finnish audience. The event featured an online participation by the writer Dr. Sana’a Al-Shalaan (the daughter of Naima), the book's editor and daughter of the late Naima Al-Mushaykhi.

The launch ceremony included a speech by Abbas Dahel Hassan, the head of the Tanour cultural center, followed by a speech from Dr. Sana’a Al-Shalaan. This was followed by a pre-recorded video introducing the book and the late writer Naima Al-Mushaykhi, and then copies of the book were distributed to attendees.

Abbas Dahel Hassan mentioned that the book “We Love You, Naima” is a token of loyalty from the Tanour cultural center to the memory of the late Naima Al-Mushaykhi. He also thanked the participants in the event and everyone who contributed creatively. He pointed out that this is the first launch event for the book, and it is hoped that there will be more launch events in Jordan, Iraq, and India according to suitable conditions in the near future.

As for Dr. Sana’a Al-Shalaan, she thanked the Tanour cultural center, represented by its president, the Iraqi expatriate writer Abbas Dahel, who embraced and published the book through his center. She also expressed her gratitude to those responsible for this launch event and the attendees and participants. She spoke about the idea of the book and the journey of gathering, editing, and preparing it over three years of diligent work, resulting in this beautiful edition. She thanked everyone who contributed their time, creativity, and memories in sincerity to the memory of her late mother, Naima Al-Mushaykhi.

It is worth noting that the book is dedicated to Professor Jihad Al-Ajlouni from Jordan. It comprises 703 large pages and is enriched with hundreds of human and creative testimonies from all over the world regarding Naima Al-Mushaykhi. The book's cover features a painting by the Jordanian artist Asef Nasri, titled “My Eternal Companion.” Additionally, Iranian artist Hakima Tokhli contributed four paintings to the book titled: “The Mother and Her Daughter,” “The Pure Mother,” “Eternal Love,” and “Flowers of Eternal Love.” Iranian artist Zahra Seyahi also participated with a painting titled “My Mother.”

The contributions in the book came in the form of prose, poetry, short stories, critical studies, artistic paintings, artistic shards, and media interviews. The book begins with a word from the publisher Abbas Dahel Hassan, a testimony from the daughter Dr. Sana’a Al-Shalaan (the daughter of Naima), a special creative testimony from the late Naima Al-Mushaykhi in the field of motherhood and creativity, an introduction to the book by Dr. Abdul Ilah Ben Hadar, and a word of acknowledgment, appreciation, condolences, clarification, and a unique dedication.

The book is presented by the honorable Dr. Nidhal Al-Ahmad Al-Aiyassrah and contains four giant sections that organize the entire book, sequentially bearing the following titles: The First Section: “Human and Creative Prose Testimonies,” The Second Section: “Human and Creative Poetry Testimonies,” The Third Section: “Human and Creative Testimonies: Fragments of Love and Loyalty,” and The Fourth Section: “Media Interviews with Sana’a Al-Shalaan about Naima Al-Mushaykhi.” The book concludes with two appendices: the first titled “The Biography of the Late Naima Al-Mushaykhi,” and the second titled “Documents and Images Related to the Accomplishments of the Late Naima Al-Mushaykhi.”

The book includes contributions from hundreds of academics, scholars, researchers, writers, poets, artists, educators, critics, diplomats, media professionals, businessmen, and activists in the cultural, creative, educational, and humanitarian fields, as well as university presidents and heads of creative, civic, research, and educational institutions, legal professionals, dignitaries, and cultural and media figures from Jordan, the Arab world, and internationally. Additionally, contributions were made by family, relatives, friends, and neighbors of the late writer Naima Al-Mushaykhi, who shared ties of humanity based on love, appreciation, and a memory filled with kindness, respect, and loyalty to her.
