Iranian Regime in the Eye of the Storm!

Mir Mohammadi Regime
Finally, what the regime leaders and officials had constantly warned against has occurred. After decades of blatant interference in the region and suspicious secret efforts to acquire nuclear weapons, the regime is now facing the worst consequences of its actions — as the saying goes, "the magic turned against the magician."
For more than four decades, the Iranian regime sought to address its internal turmoil and the possibility of losing its grip by provoking wars or crises beyond its borders. This approach was effective until 2023, when the regime crossed all red lines and began playing with a fire different from that of previous periods. As a result, what the regime never expected or anticipated happened: the external confrontation and war it ignited in the region were transferred to its own doorstep.
Internationally, it was expected and hoped that the regime would recognize and learn from this lesson — especially after the fall of Assad and the defeat of its proxy, Hezbollah, in Lebanon — and adopt a more pragmatic, rational approach concerning its ongoing negotiations over its nuclear program. However, as the entire world has observed, this regime continued to cling to the very narratives that the world is growing weary of and can no longer tolerate. This is why its nuclear program suffered further destruction, with sites like Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan being targeted.
Ironically and mockingly, instead of learning from its severe defeats and trying to mend its shattered image, the regime continues to boast of victory amidst the ruins of its destruction — claiming triumph over the devastation inflicted upon it!
The so-called "victory" statements from this regime, which suffers from dire conditions and is in a state of confusion and contradictory statements, have faded and dissipated. In the days following the war, after 46 years of promoting the "Jurist's ideology" based on "the nation" concept, despising old Iran symbols, suppressing "nationalists," and killing opposition writers and poets under the pretext of "cultural invasion of Islamic Iran," we now see Supreme Leader Khamenei suddenly clinging to "Iranian nationalism." He even went as far as to have a government poet perform the national anthem "Ey Iran" during the official Ashura ceremonies.
**Implicit Admission of Defeat: A Government Newspaper Confesses Deep-Seated Crisis**
In this context, and as an indicator of the extent of internal loss and disorder, a striking analysis was published in the government newspaper "Hem Mihan" on July 10, 2025, titled "12 Lessons from the 12-Day War." This article covers logistical, defensive, intelligence, infiltrative, deterrent aspects, the quality of military power of both sides, and the ultimate fate of the 12-day conflict. It implicitly admits to the presence and persistence of deep, chronic crises between the regime of the mullahs and the Iranian people.
The newspaper, through this article, seeks to offer a way out for regime officials by learning from the experiences of the 12-day war. It highlights three issues that have always been sources of crisis between the ruling regime and the people, and between the regime and the world. It aims for the regime to undergo a sort of "baptism" regarding these issues and to abandon its previous behaviors that caused crises for the Iranian people and ignited wars among nations.
- **Redefining the Concept of Homeland:** A delayed acknowledgment of fundamental mistakes. The article discusses "learning from redefining the concept of homeland," admitting that "loyalty to the nation, nationalism, and love for the homeland have been neglected" throughout the life of the religious regime. The correct translation of this admission is that Iran’s geography was monopolized by religious-ideological dominance and occupation, and that the only thing absent from governance was rationality, diplomacy, thinking, and wisdom. The newspaper just discovered, after 46 years, that "the homeland is a valuable concept that needs redefining," and that "through redefining the homeland, we can reach national reconciliation." From these confessions, it is easy to understand the reason behind the reaction of the reactionary Supreme Leader, after 46 years of crimes under the guise of religion, nation, and guardianship — suddenly feeling a deep pain for the homeland and repeatedly chanting "Iran, Iran."
- **Chronic Neglect of Public Opinion:** A trust crisis in the media. The article emphasizes "the necessity of taking public opinion seriously," yet the author dares not mention the reality of 46 years — that the regime’s very foundation is based on "the Supreme Leader’s opinion," and that the views and ideas of the people are merely decorations for illusion, exploited to suppress opponents. In this context, he has nothing to say and is confident that the regime’s national media will not offer anything new: "We cannot expect much from our television. Radio and TV do not accept this perspective [taking public opinion seriously]."
