Egyptian Qatari Efforts to End Fire in Gaza

Regional and international efforts to support a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip continued, as Egyptian Foreign Minister, Sameh Shoukry, conducted a phone call on Tuesday with Qatari Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani. The discussion covered the latest developments in the sector and joint efforts between the two countries, along with the United States, to achieve a ceasefire.
An Egyptian Foreign Ministry statement indicated that the call addressed the bilateral relations between Egypt and Qatar. Shoukry expressed appreciation for the positive developments in relations, reaffirming the strong bonds and ties that unite Cairo and Doha, which serve the interests of both peoples and their shared goals.
The two officials exchanged views on the latest developments in Gaza and means to advance international efforts, led by the United States, to resume and restore the ceasefire, end the ongoing Palestinian bloodshed, secure the release of prisoners and detainees, and ensure the flow of essential humanitarian aid to the sector.
They also discussed bilateral cooperation regarding Iran, with the ministers emphasizing the importance of stabilizing the ceasefire, reducing escalation, and working towards diplomatic solutions to resolve crises. Additionally, Egypt's support for resuming negotiations on Iran’s nuclear program and all efforts to enhance security and stability in the Middle East were highlighted.
