Following the US-sponsored ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas

The magazine “Al-Majalla” published the final text of the ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas in the Gaza Strip, which is expected to be announced personally by the U.S. president. This agreement comes amid pressure from the U.S. administration, which is seeking to finalize it before the upcoming meeting between President Biden and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in Washington on Monday.
Hamas officially announced that it has delivered its response to the proposal to cease hostilities, affirming its readiness to enter immediate negotiations regarding the implementation mechanism. The proposal, which took into account the Palestinian movement’s observations on previous drafts, includes a ceasefire for two months, as well as the release of hostages and prisoners and the handover of the bodies of martyrs from both sides.
Below is the verbatim text of the American proposal:
1. Duration:
A ceasefire for 60 days, with President Trump guaranteeing Israel’s commitment to implement it during the specified period.
2. Release of Hostages:
The agreement includes the release of 10 living Israeli hostages and 18 bodies from the list of 58, according to the following schedule:
- 8 living hostages on the first day.
- Delivery of 5 bodies of deceased hostages on the seventh day.
- 5 more bodies on the thirtieth day.
- Two additional living hostages on the fiftieth day.
- 8 more bodies on the sixtieth day, bringing the total number of released hostages during the period.
The text also indicated that humanitarian aid will be immediately sent to Gaza once Hamas agrees to the ceasefire, in accordance with an agreement regulating the distribution and quantity of aid, aligned with the January 19, 2025, humanitarian aid agreement. Aid distribution will be coordinated through reliable channels, including the United Nations and the Red Cross, to ensure effective and concentrated delivery to those in need.
