Gaza: Nine Civilians Killed as Bombing Continues and Children's Conditions Worsen Due to Starvation and Malnutrition

Various areas of the Gaza Strip have experienced an escalation of Israeli military operations. The Palestinian News Agency "Wafa" reported that nine individuals were killed early this morning as a result of the occupation forces targeting displaced persons’ tents in Deir Balqis and east of Khan Younis in the south of the Strip. Medical sources at Nasser Hospital confirmed that five of the victims were children and that the number of injuries is increasing due to airstrikes targeting displacement camps.

In other developments, Palestinian sources documented the death of a 10-year-old girl today due to severe starvation and malnutrition, bringing the total number of child fatalities resulting from the deteriorating humanitarian conditions to 86, according to information received from Al-Rabwa Hospital in Nuseirat. The sources indicated that Noor Abu Sal’ah died due to medication shortages and the malnutrition afflicting Gaza, where over 900,000 children are suffering from hunger, including 70,000 who have entered advanced stages of malnutrition.

The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) also warned of a deepening hunger crisis, affirming that malnutrition rates among children under five have significantly increased between March and June, due to the ongoing Israeli blockade on the enclave. These reports underscore the critical humanitarian situation faced by the population amid a military escalation that exacerbates civilian suffering.
