Gulf Cooperation Council Calls for Immediate Action to Lift the Siege on Gaza
دول مجلس التعاون الخليجي يدعو المجتمع الدولي لرفع الحصار عن غزة

Gulf Cooperation Council countries have issued an urgent appeal to the international community for swift and immediate action to lift the siege imposed on the Gaza Strip and ensure the entry of humanitarian and relief aid without restrictions or conditions. This comes amid escalating heinous crimes committed by Israeli occupation forces, which have led to severe famine and widespread humanitarian disasters affecting the Palestinian brotherly people.

Jassem Mheid Al-Badawi, Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council, expressed strong condemnation and denunciation of Israel’s ongoing inhumane and illegal siege on Gaza. He clarified that the siege prevents the entry of all forms of aid, leading to the spread of famine and the depletion of food and medical supplies. This is a flagrant violation of international laws, the Geneva Conventions, and principles of human rights, posing a clear challenge to the international community.

Al-Badawi pointed out that the council holds the Israeli occupation fully responsible for the continuation of this humanitarian disaster. He affirmed that the policy of collective starvation employed by the occupation forces constitutes a war crime that demands urgent accountability from the international community.

He also called for urgent action from all concerned countries and organizations to stop this brutal siege, cease acts of killing and starvation, support the urgent entry of humanitarian aid, and open border crossings without delay to save innocent lives from an impending catastrophe.

In conclusion, the Secretary-General reiterated the position of the member states supporting the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, especially their right to a decent life, self-determination, and the achievement of a just and lasting peace, based on UN resolutions and the Arab Peace Initiative.
