Israel Begins Demarcating the Yellow Line Within Gaza Strip
إسرائيل تبدأ ترسيم حدود الخط الأصفر داخل قطاع غزة

The Israeli army started on Monday the process of outlining the boundaries of the Yellow Line within the Gaza Strip, based on instructions from Defense Minister Yisrael Katz. This step aims to enhance control and reduce threats. Israeli Channel 12 aired videos showing machinery pulling yellow barriers, indicating the designated line.

The Israeli newspaper Haaretz reported that Katz issued orders for the army to exert clear pressure on Hamas leaders through a message via U.S. censorship, stating that any Hamas member found behind the Yellow Line must immediately evacuate the area. It also emphasized the responsibility of Hamas leaders for any events that occur and warned that anyone remaining in the area will become a target for attack without prior notice, to enable Israeli forces to operate freely.

Following the recent ceasefire in Gaza, a gradual withdrawal of the Israeli army was carried out according to conditions, with forces retreating to what has been called the "Yellow Line." According to mediators, this line covers more than half of the sector's area (53%), most of which lies outside population centers. However, the army does not control the entire area with ground troops, as most units are positioned near the border with Israel.

In the future, additional Israeli forces are expected to be gradually withdrawn from the sector as part of potential arrangements for a ceasefire.
