Jordan denies reports on king's Credit Swiss accounts

The Xinhua reported, Jordan's Royal Hashemite Court on Monday denied reports that King Abdullah II owned Credit Swiss accounts.

The court said in a statement, the total balance mentioned in several reports is "inaccurate and exaggerated" due to significant duplicative counting.

The statement added that those reports were published to defame Jordan and the king.

The court reiterated that all international assistance was subject to professional audits, and their allocations were fully accounted for by the government and donor entities based on cooperation agreements subject to the highest standards of governance and oversight.

It added that the king's private assets and wealth have always been independent from the treasury and public funds, and they are administered by the Privy Purse, which is a directorate that has been at the court for over 70 years.

The Xinhua noted that several reports circulating on the Internet said that according to a major data leak from one of Switzerland's largest banks, "the king and queen of Jordan had secret Swiss bank accounts worth hundreds of millions of dollars."

More than 100 high school students from across the Kingdom of Bahrain took part in the hackathon, which featured an intensive programme of training workshops and hands-on sessions. These activities were tailored to enhance participants’ critical thinking, collaborative problem-solving, and team-building capabilities, while also encouraging the development of practical and sustainable solutions to contemporary challenges using modern technological tools.
