Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov stated that Russia wants to review the details of U.S.-Ukraine talks before commenting on the proposed one-month ceasefire

On Wednesday, Russia announced that it seeks to review the outcomes of U.S.-Ukraine negotiations held in Saudi Arabia before commenting on the proposed one-month ceasefire.
Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov told reporters: "We have scheduled communications with the American side in the coming days, and we rely on them to provide us with sufficient information regarding this proposal."
Peskov added that a phone call between Russian President Vladimir Putin and former U.S. President Donald Trump could not be ruled out, stating that such a conversation could be arranged swiftly if necessary.
These remarks followed a day after discussions between the United States and Ukraine in Saudi Arabia, which aimed to bridge the gap between Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and find a way to end the war that has lasted over three years.
At the conclusion of the talks, Ukraine agreed to a U.S.-proposed 30-day ceasefire. Meanwhile, Washington reaffirmed its continued military support for Kyiv, which has been a crucial factor in Ukraine's resistance against the Russian invasion. However, Kyiv emphasized that the implementation of this proposal depends on Moscow’s approval as well.
