Lecturer at Tishreen University in Latakia Threatens and Insults Religious Minorities
معيد في جامعة تشرين باللاذقية يهدد ويتوعد الأقليات الدينية

Amid escalating sectarian statements warning of moral and social deterioration, one of the teaching assistants at the College of Architecture at Tishreen University in Latakia has sparked widespread controversy. He threatened and vowed against religious minorities, cursing, mocking, and insulting them, while waving harmful words that demean their dignity and violate their humanity.

These statements ignited a wave of anger and denunciation on social media, especially in light of the declining cultural and educational situation, and the ability of some intellectuals to exploit educational platforms to spread extremist ideas.

In the same context, many followers commented on the matter; some expressed their strong disapproval, saying: "I am surprised by the person who studies and learns, yet his thinking remains backward and worthless. Honestly, knowledge changes a person’s way of thinking, but what about these people?". This comment reflects the reality that some individuals holding academic degrees may be overshadowed by ignorance and fanaticism, highlighting the need to correct misconceptions and promote values of tolerance and respect among all sects and religions.
