Mass Protest in Sweida Against Syria's New Administration
مظاهرات حاشدة في السويداء

Today, a large-scale protest took place in al-Karama Square in the city of Sweida against the new administration in Syria, as citizens responded to calls that spread on social media.

The demonstrators raised unity flags and banners denouncing the policies of the new government, asserting that “the interim government seeks only to cling to power and does not see itself building a state,” according to their statements. The protesters also chanted in support of Sheikh Hikmat al-Hijri, holding up his pictures alongside those of Sheikh Moafaq Tarif.

The protesters gathered in al-Karama Square to express their rejection of the current situation, demanding real changes in governance and justice in the representation of the people.

In a parallel development, the "Men of Dignity" movement announced coordination with the Ministry of Interior to activate the role of internal security in the governorate. The movement clarified that special internal security vehicles had been sent to Sweida, where local factions will work with the Ministry of Interior to better organize the security situation.
