Mayor of Sahnaia and His Son Killed Following Government Forces' Entry
The mayor of Sahnaia in the Damascus countryside, Hussam Wourour, and his only son were killed in a tragic incident, while the relevant authorities, "Public Security," announced an investigation into the event, according to Syrian media reports.
"Syria TV" reported that Wourour was shot dead by unknown assailants. This attack occurred just hours after units from the Ministries of Defense and Interior entered the area.
Other reports indicated that Wourour had appeared in a video welcoming the entry of those forces into Sahnaia.
It is noteworthy that Sahnaia and Ashrafiyat Sahnaia, along with Jaramana, were attacked yesterday by armed groups and "supporting forces" of the government. According to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, the number of victims exceeded 22, in addition to 10 others in Ashrafiyat Sahnaia.
