Military Escalation in Aleppo: Turkish Forces and Allied Factions Launch Intensive Attacks
الجيش التركي

Turkish forces and their allied factions have intensified their military operations in the rural areas of Aleppo, targeting several regions in the western rural area of Ayn al-Arab (Kobani) and the vicinity of the Tishrin Dam, amidst heavy artillery fire and air support.

Villages such as Tina, Ja'ka, Bir Husun, Ghasaq, Dikan, Malha, and Al-Sana have experienced intense bombardment with heavy weapons, leading to powerful explosions in the region, with no reports of casualties so far. Additionally, the Karakouzq Bridge and the surrounding area of the Tishrin Dam have come under heavy artillery attack.

Simultaneously, violent clashes erupted between the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) and Turkish-backed factions along the Tel Serital axis, resulting in the death of three faction members and injuries to five others. Furthermore, a landmine exploded near the village of Al-Saeediya on the Tishrin Dam axis, injuring SDF personnel and leading to the capture of another member from the factions in the area.

According to documentation from the "Syrian Observatory," the death toll since the escalation began on December 12, 2024, has reached 630 individuals, including:
- 56 civilians (7 women, 4 children, and a journalist).
- 470 members of Turkish-backed factions, including a sergeant in the Turkish army.
- 101 members of the SDF and affiliated military formations, including a leader, due to ground attacks and drone strikes.
- 3 Turkish soldiers.

These recent Turkish attacks represent an unprecedented escalation in the crisis, as Ankara attempts to impose a new ground reality amid growing calls to cease the escalation.
