Ministry of Finance Orders Asset Freezes and Travel Bans Against Executives at Qaterji Companies
The Ministry of Finance has issued decisions imposing precautionary seizures on movable and immovable assets, as well as travel bans, against a number of executive and financial managers working for the Qaterji Group and its affiliated companies, along with members of their families, according to sources cited by the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights.
According to the sources, the measures targeted several companies linked to the Qaterji family, including Arfada for Petroleum and Golden Gate, in relation to managers who had been responsible for running them prior to the liberation. The measures also included the companies BS, Al-Mahام, and Ghars Agricultural.
The decisions come amid files and investigations concerning financial and economic activities and investments linked to the Qaterji family in recent years.
The precautionary measures restrict the disposal of funds and property and prohibit those affected from leaving the country pending the completion of the investigations and the adoption of the necessary legal procedures.
