Raisi and Putin agree on the importance of establishing peace in Afghanistan

The Xinhua reported that Russian President Vladimir Putin and Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi agreed on the importance of establishing peace and stability in Afghanistan in a telephone call Wednesday.

According to the Chinese news agency, the Kremlin said in a statement: "Much attention was paid to the events unfolding in Afghanistan. Willingness to contribute to the establishment of peace and stability in this country was expressed."

Putin and Raisi further discussed bilateral economic and trade relations, addressed COVID-19 cooperation, and covered the upcoming summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization that is set to take place in September in Dushanbe.

In a related context, the TASS reported according to Nikolai Patrushev, Russia is ready to hold a dialogue with Afghani authorities, which are respectful of the will of people.

The Secretary of Russia’s Security Council Nikolai Patrushev told Izvestia daily, there are no preconditions for Russia’s military presence in Afghanistan and the situation in this country must be settled by means of a peaceful dialogue.

"We will focus on the political and diplomatic efforts regarding Afghanistan and will be looking for ways of establishing an inter-Afghani dialogue and a peaceful resolution of the existing problems in the country jointly with our partners."

According to the Xinhua, Putin congratulated Raisi on winning the recent presidential election and taking office.

More than 100 high school students from across the Kingdom of Bahrain took part in the hackathon, which featured an intensive programme of training workshops and hands-on sessions. These activities were tailored to enhance participants’ critical thinking, collaborative problem-solving, and team-building capabilities, while also encouraging the development of practical and sustainable solutions to contemporary challenges using modern technological tools.
