Russian Aircraft Enter South Korean Air Defense Zone… and South Korea Responds

On Saturday, Russian military aircraft entered the air defense zone of South Korea, prompting a swift response from the South Korean military, which deployed fighter jets in light of these developments.
The Joint Chiefs of Staff in Seoul confirmed that several Russian aircraft crossed the region in succession at 9:29 AM (local time) before heading east or north, according to South Korean broadcaster KBS World.
The Joint Chiefs of Staff office indicated that the aircraft did not breach South Korean airspace. The military successfully tracked the Russian aircraft before their entry, allowing them to deploy Air Force fighter jets as a precautionary response to potential scenarios.
The Joint Chiefs of Staff reported that they confirmed through communications with the Russian side that the aircraft were conducting training exercises and that there was no intention to violate regional airspace.
