Russian President Vladimir Putin holds talks with Turkey’s Erdogan

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov has said that Russian President Vladimir Putin holds phone talks with his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Monday (May 30).

Asked by Russian media on Sunday (May 29) whether a rumored discussion would take place, the official said the conversation was “in the plans.”

Earlier in the day, the Turkish president had announced talks with both Putin and his Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelensky amid the ongoing conflict between Moscow and Kiev.

Erdogan stated: “I will have phone conversations with both Russia and Ukraine on Monday. We will continue to encourage the two parties to maintain channels of dialogue and diplomacy."

Turkey has taken a neutral stance in the conflict that broke out in late February. Ankara has maintained ties with both Ukraine and Russia, refusing to join Western sanctions against Moscow and striving to assume the role of a mediator in the conflict.

Earlier in March, Negotiators from Ukraine and Russia held the first face-to-face talks, during which Ukraine presented written proposals to stop the Russian invasion.

More than 100 high school students from across the Kingdom of Bahrain took part in the hackathon, which featured an intensive programme of training workshops and hands-on sessions. These activities were tailored to enhance participants’ critical thinking, collaborative problem-solving, and team-building capabilities, while also encouraging the development of practical and sustainable solutions to contemporary challenges using modern technological tools.
