Solidarity Campaign in Damascus with the People of Sweida Following the Bloody Events

The city of Damascus witnessed a popular solidarity campaign with the governorate of Sweida following the bloody events that recently took place there, which provoked widespread outrage and anger among the citizens of the country.
The people of Damascus organized a broad campaign, awareness initiatives, and collected donations to support the people of Sweida, in a move that reaffirms the unity and cohesion of the Syrian people.
Syrian Minister of Justice, Mazhar Al-Weis, pledged on Wednesday to hold accountable all those proven to be involved in the recent events in Sweida. He stated that “the hand of justice will reach the criminals sooner or later.”
Al-Weis said that the recent events in our country involved serious violations committed by outlaws, emphasizing that the only solution is to follow the path of the rule of law and justice, which is the greatest guarantee for the country’s stability.
He added, “We continue working with the concerned authorities in all their respective capacities to fulfill this commitment in accordance with the prevailing laws.”
Al-Weis also pointed out that the state had reached a ceasefire agreement in Sweida (southern Syria) to rescue the detainees, ensure their release, and allow the entry of humanitarian aid as a step towards the return of state institutions and the establishment of security.
On another note, a humanitarian aid convoy consisting of 30 trucks entered Sweida Governorate on Wednesday — the second of its kind — according to a statement from the governorate via Telegram.
