The Syrian prisoner, Muhammad Fawwaz Al-Ashraf, also known as Muhammad Al-Malik, aged 40, died in Roumieh Prison in Lebanon after hanging himself in the prison kitchen, according to informed sources.

Reports indicated that Al-Ashraf was suffering from psoriasis, and his request to receive medication for his condition was denied, which led to a deterioration in his mental health. This ultimately resulted in the tragic suicide incident.

This incident raises questions about the conditions of Syrian detainees in Lebanon, especially regarding health and humanitarian aspects, amid increasing calls to improve prison conditions and ensure prisoners receive necessary medical care.
