The displaced clans of Sweida refuse to accept division.. Sweida tribes respond to Al-Hajri’s statement
The children of the displaced tribes from Sweida province issued a decisive statement in response to the statements made by Al-Hajri and his militias. They affirmed that they are the rightful owners of the land and decision, and that they will not accept the partition of Syria or forsake their national rights.
The statement stated that those who today mourn the kidnapped are the same who kidnapped, killed, and slaughtered members of the tribes, incited their displacement, ordered crimes against children, women, and the elderly, raided homes, lands, and livestock, and burned bodies—crimes that amount to full-scale war crimes.
The tribes emphasized that Al-Hajri and his militias deliberately ignore that they are the ones who seized the homes, villages, and neighborhoods of the displaced, and that they displaced nearly 30% of the population of Sweida, in addition to Sunnis residing in other provinces for many years.
The statement also rejected any talk of establishing an independent entity in Sweida, considering that anyone proposing such a thing only represents himself and his traitorous group working for Israel. They confirmed that the right to self-determination in Sweida is exclusively for its original inhabitants, the tribes who have been subjected to forced migration.
Moreover, the statement pointed out that Al-Hajri claims to abide by international law, while in reality, he controls black prisons that detain and torture hundreds of tribesmen and Syrians. They affirmed that the land, homes, and rights will not be left to traitors and clients.
The tribes called on the international community, the Syrian government, guarantor countries, and humanitarian organizations to immediately pressure Al-Hajri and his militias to release the kidnapped and prisoners, restore lands and homes to their owners, compensate the affected, and disarm those militias.
In conclusion, they affirmed that their land, homes, and the lives of their families are a red line that cannot be compromised, and that they are prepared to fight to the last man to defend Syria’s unity and reject any project aimed at dividing it.
