Transitional Government: We Stand Firmly with Saudi Arabia in the Face of Threats to Its Security
Syria’s Ministry of Information affirmed that the transitional government’s regional policy is based on stability, peace, and cooperation—not opening new fronts. It emphasized Syria’s solidarity with Saudi Arabia in confronting threats to its security and stability.
The ministry’s statement came in response to media reports claiming that Syria had been asked to intervene in Yemen. It said the government’s overriding priority is to rebuild Syria, strengthen its institutions, and work with partners on reconstruction and improving Syrians’ living standards.
The ministry stressed that any military cooperation with partner countries would take place through official channels and established bilateral frameworks.
Meanwhile, Syrian presidential media adviser Ahmad Muwaffaq Zaidan said in a post on X that the security of Saudi Arabia and the Gulf is part of Syria’s own security. He affirmed that Damascus stands “with its people in the land of the Two Holy Mosques, with full strength and resolve.”
Zaidan denied reports that the Kingdom had asked Syria to send troops to Saudi Arabia or Yemen, describing media reports to that effect as “false and unfounded.”
