Arrest of the Killer of Dr. Basel Zino in Aleppo and Details of the Incident
Aleppo security forces have managed to arrest the suspect in the murder of Dr. Basel Zino, a professor at the Faculty of Medicine in Aleppo, following a horrific shooting incident.
In a statement published by the Syrian Ministry of Interior on its Facebook page on Wednesday, the ministry's spokesperson, Nour al-Din Al-Baba, confirmed that the criminal investigation team in Aleppo began their probe immediately after receiving a report indicating that Dr. Basel Zino was shot outside his clinic in the Al-Jamiliya neighborhood, which resulted in his death. According to investigations, the authorities identified the killer as a relative of the victim, with motives linked to a family dispute over inheritance.
Al-Baba added that the internal security leadership in Aleppo is actively following the case and taking the necessary legal measures against anyone found guilty, based on the results of investigations and judicial evidence, to ensure justice and maintain overall stability.
Dr. Basel Zino was killed yesterday, Tuesday, outside his clinic in the Al-Jamiliya neighborhood in Aleppo, as a result of direct gunfire. Activists on social media circulated claims that the incident might be a "political assassination," while others denied that the case had any political character, emphasizing that the investigations will reveal the true motives behind it.
