During a raid: Child dies of wounds after security clashes in al-Baghuz
A child has died today from wounds sustained during a security operation carried out by security forces on July 29 in the town of al-Baghuz in eastern Deir ez-Zor countryside, which targeted a cell suspected of belonging to the Islamic State.
According to reports, security forces imposed a tight cordon on the area during the raid, after which clashes erupted with the cell’s members using automatic weapons. Sources said the cell’s members had held a child hostage and used him as a human shield, and he was shot during the exchange of fire. The child was taken to a hospital for treatment but succumbed to his wounds today.
