Field escalation in eastern Aleppo between Damascus forces and SDF
This morning, a new field escalation occurred in the Deir Hafar axis in eastern Aleppo, involving mutual shelling with mortars between the Syrian government forces and the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF). Local sources reported that clashes were concentrated around the contact lines east of Deir Hafar, with a state of alert prevailing at the locations of both sides. The shelling lasted for a short period, and there have been no confirmed reports of casualties so far.
It is worth noting that on October 9th, the SDF managed to thwart a ceasefire breach attempt. They responded to an infiltration attempt by elements of the National Army in eastern Aleppo, with clashes centered around a military point near Tishrin Dam, after the site was targeted with hand grenades, leading to the death of one attacker and the withdrawal of the remaining elements.
