Gulf Cooperation Council Reaffirms Denunciation of Israeli Aggression and Supports Syria's Sovereignty
مجلـــــس التعاون الخليجي

The Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) reiterated its condemnation of Israel's repeated aggression against Syrian territories, affirming its support for Syria’s sovereignty, independence, and territorial integrity.

During the opening of the eighth ministerial meeting of the strategic dialogue between Russia and the GCC in Sochi, GCC Secretary-General Jassim al-Budaiwi emphasized that Syria’s security and stability constitute a fundamental pillar of regional security.

Al-Budaiwi also strongly condemned the Israeli aggression against Qatar, calling on the international community to denounce it and exert pressures to halt Israeli policies threatening regional stability. He pointed out that such attacks hinder Qatar’s efforts in mediating a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip.

The GCC Council condemned Israel’s targeting of humanitarian and UN organizations operating in Gaza and its obstruction of aid delivery. It called on the international community to assume its responsibilities in alleviating the suffering of the Palestinian people and ensuring the delivery of humanitarian and relief aid.

The member states reaffirmed the centrality of the Palestinian issue and the necessity of ending the Israeli occupation, establishing an independent Palestinian state within the 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital, based on the Arab Peace Initiative and United Nations resolutions.
