Hamas: Resistance Weapons are a Red Line and There is No Room for Compromise

Hamas leader Sami Abu Zuhri stated on Tuesday that "the weapons of resistance are a red line," amid Israeli demands for the complete disarmament of Gaza as a condition for moving to the second phase of the ceasefire agreement.
Abu Zuhri told Agence France-Presse, "Any discussion regarding resistance weapons is empty talk and does not reflect reality." He emphasized that "these weapons are a red line for Hamas and all resistance factions, and cannot be negotiated or up for discussion."
He also stressed that any proposal regarding the relocation of resistance fighters or the Palestinian people is entirely rejected.
For his part, Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa'ar announced that Israel is demanding a "complete disarmament" of Gaza and the elimination of Hamas as a fundamental condition for moving to the second phase of the ceasefire agreement, adding, "If we can achieve that, we could reach an agreement by tomorrow."
The first phase of the agreement concluded last Saturday.
Sa'ar clarified that humanitarian aid has become a primary source of revenue for Hamas in Gaza, which justified Israel's decision to suspend the entry of goods and supplies into the besieged territory.
