Hezbollah supporters attack Lebanese MP over his statements

Lebanese MP Marwan Hamada was subjected to a severe attack by Hezbollah supporters following his comments regarding the event organized by the party last Thursday in the Raouche area of Beirut. Immediately after Hamada's statements, Hezbollah supporters gathered in the vicinity of his home on Friday evening, chanting slogans, raising banners, and using fireworks as part of threatening messages and protests.
Additionally, Hezbollah supporters launched threats and insulting messages via social media, accusing Hamada and holding him responsible for his remarks. On the other hand, Hamada, a member of the Democratic Gathering, strongly denied that his comments referred to the Raouche event or contained any vulgar language directed at Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah. He clarified that his reference to the passionate funeral during a televised interview was solely related to the political and administrative crisis connected to lighting the Raouche point, which led to tensions.
The MP reaffirmed his full respect for Lebanon’s martyrs, the resistance, and Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah and his comrades in a statement issued on Saturday. The Hezbollah event held in front of the famous Rock of Raouche in Beirut included symbolic lighting of images of the party’s two former secretaries-general, Hassan Nasrallah and Hachem Safieddine, who were assassinated by Israel last year. This was despite a decision by Beirut’s governor not to allow banners or lighting of any party slogans on the rock, which sparked widespread controversy and political tension.
