The Houthi movement in Yemen announced on Saturday the death of Prime Minister Ahmed Ghaleb al-Rahwi and several ministers in an Israeli airstrike, which the group said targeted a government workshop in western Yemen last Thursday. The Houthi-led Presidential Council issued a statement stating: "We announce the martyrdom of the jihadist Ahmed Ghaleb al-Rahwi, Prime Minister in the Government of Change and Construction, along with some of his ministerial colleagues. The Israeli enemy targeted the Prime Minister and several of his ministers during a routine workshop to assess the performance and activities of the government over the past year."

The statement added that several ministers were injured with varying degrees of moderate to serious wounds, and they are receiving treatment in hospitals. It confirmed that government institutions will continue their work despite the losses, and that “the blood of the martyrs will be a motivation to move forward on the same path.”

In another context, the Houthis renewed their support for the Hamas movement and the Gaza Strip, indicating that they are "continuing to build their armed forces and develop their capabilities to face the challenges and dangers confronting the region."
