Tartous... Casualties, Arrests of Wanted Persons, and Weapons Seizures

The Syrian Internal Security Forces announced the results of an security operation carried out in Tartous countryside, which resulted in the death of several members of an outlawed cell, as well as the arrest of other wanted individuals and the seizure of large quantities of weapons and ammunition in their possession. The Syrian Ministry of Interior shared on its official accounts that this operation was part of the pursuit of the group involved in targeting an internal security patrol at the entrance of Tartous city on the 18th of this month, which led to the killing of two security personnel.
Colonel Abdel Aal Mohammed Abdel Aal, commander of the internal security forces in Tartous governorate, stated that special task units carried out the security raid in cooperation with the 56th Division of the Ministry of Defense formations. During the operation, armed clashes took place with the members of the cell, during which some fighters were neutralized and others were arrested.
The operation also uncovered a farm used as a clandestine treatment site for the cell members, as well as storage facilities for weapons and ammunition used in various attacks against the army and security forces in the area. The leadership of the internal security forces emphasized that their campaign to dismantle terrorist hideouts and pursue anyone seeking to destabilize the security of the homeland and its citizens continues. They confirmed that security operations in Tartous countryside are still ongoing until all their objectives are fully achieved.
