Human Losses and Infrastructure Damage Due to Israeli Airstrikes on Gaza
غزة

Israeli aircraft continued their bombardment of various areas in the Gaza Strip since the early hours of Sunday, resulting in the deaths and injuries of several Palestinians. This military escalation comes at a highly sensitive time, as residents of Gaza face unprecedented challenges due to the ongoing shelling and the enormous destruction inflicted on infrastructure and vital facilities, including hospitals, which are considered a lifeline under the current conditions.

Tens of thousands of Gaza residents have sought refuge in hospitals that have turned into shelters, despite many of them suffering severe damage from the continuous bombardment.

The Palestinian news agency "Wafa" reported, citing medical sources in the sector, that an Israeli drone targeted a woman in the Jabalia town area, killing her instantly. The same sources confirmed the death of seven Palestinians as a result of shelling that targeted a civilian vehicle on Al-Rashid Street near the desalination station in Deir al-Balah.

The aerial bombardment continued in various areas of Gaza, with Saad Ibn Muadh School in East Tuffah and Al-Dhiyaan School in Sheikh Radwan being subjected to airstrikes, resulting in the deaths of more Palestinians who were seeking shelter in these educational facilities.

In this context, the Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned the Israeli bombing that targeted Al-Mahdani Hospital in Gaza City, which is among the medical facilities most affected by the attacks. The ministry pointed out that the bombardment led to the complete destruction of the hospital, displacing patients and the injured.

The ministry confirmed that the destruction of hospitals in Gaza is not a new occurrence; the Israeli army had deliberately destroyed 34 hospitals in the sector before. It considered these attacks part of a policy of starving and depriving the population of basic needs and medicines, thereby exacerbating their suffering under the ongoing aggression.

Furthermore, the ministry stated that targeting hospitals, healthcare centers, and medical personnel represents one of the "most heinous forms of genocide," stressing that the international community bears a significant share of the responsibility for its complicity and silence regarding these Israeli practices.

In conclusion, the ministry explained that what is happening in Gaza is a continuation of Israel's systematic policy aimed at destroying the foundations of life in the sector, rendering it uninhabitable for human beings, and forcing citizens to flee through military force.
