Iran submits proposal reaffirming its rights to nuclear capabilities

Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson, Nasser Kanaani, stated that enrichment is not necessarily linked to a nuclear weapons program, adding that many countries conduct uranium enrichment without possessing missile programs.
According to Kanaani, enrichment is considered an integral part of the nuclear fuel cycle, and this is non-negotiable for Iran. He also pointed out that the recent report by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), prepared under political pressure from three European countries and the United States, is unjustifiably politicized.
Kanaani expressed Iran’s commitment to cooperate with the IAEA within the framework of its obligations, according to the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty and the Comprehensive Safeguards Agreement. He emphasized that Iran has taken significant steps over the past two years to enhance cooperation with the agency and has shown goodwill clearly.
In the same context, he explained that the IAEA, under political influence, prepared a comprehensive report that is being exploited unprofessionally by European countries, leading to decisions and measures that represent an escalation against Iran.
He noted that Iran has developed a series of steps and measures to respond to these actions and that it is fully aware of its capabilities and potential in this field. He clarified that Iran will use all appropriate legal and diplomatic means to confront what it considers an unjustified escalation.
