ISIS-Inspired Slogans and Death Threats Spark Concern in Ratyan, Northern Aleppo
Slogans supporting ISIS, including threats of killing and beheading, sparked concern among residents of Ratyan village in the northern Aleppo countryside after they appeared on several walls in the area.
The party responsible for writing the slogans has not yet been identified, and no information has emerged regarding any official measures taken against those involved.
The incident comes amid recurring reports from various parts of northern Syria involving cells or propaganda activities believed to be linked to ISIS, despite ongoing security campaigns aimed at pursuing the group’s members and curbing its activities.
On June 27, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported heightened security tensions in the town of Kafr Sajna in southern Idlib countryside after slogans attributed to ISIS were found on walls at several locations, including: “We remain, you dogs of the Coalition.”
According to local sources, the writings raised concerns among residents that cells may be attempting to spread fear and destabilize the area, particularly given the fragile security conditions. The identity of those responsible remained unknown.
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said that, if the slogans are confirmed to be linked to ISIS, the incidents require a swift and transparent investigation to uncover the circumstances and identify those responsible. It also called for necessary measures to protect civilians and prevent the exploitation of fragile security conditions to spread fear and disorder.
