Maha El Saghir Confesses to Stealing Drawings She Claimed Were Her Own and Publicly Apologizes

Egyptian media personality Maha El Saghir, ex-wife of artist Ahmed Saba, admitted that she was mistaken in claiming the drawings she displayed were of her own creation. She confirmed that she had stolen works from other artists.
In a brief statement, Maha El Saghir apologized for her mistake, beginning her words with: "I was wrong," indicating that she caused harm to the Danish artist Lisa, who is the original creator of the drawing. She also admitted to her fault towards other artists whose works were scattered across social media, as well as towards the media platform from which she spoke about those works.
She added that her mistake was primarily against herself, considering this to be the most important aspect for her. To be transparent, she emphasized that passing through the most difficult periods of her life does not justify what happened. She concluded by saying: "I am sorry and I am upset with myself."
She pointed out that her statement was issued in both Arabic and English due to the spread of the matter across several countries, following the wave of anger expressed by the artists whose works were stolen, which led to widespread interaction on social media platforms.
