Minister of Economy: We Are Working on a Comprehensive Plan for the Reconstruction of Syria

The new Syrian Minister of Economy, Nidal Al-Shaar, announced that the government is working on preparing a comprehensive plan that includes all sectors, aiming to launch the process of rebuilding Syria in cooperation with the people and friendly nations.
In an interview with Russian radio station "Sputnik," Al-Shaar explained that the country was left under the Assad regime as a destroyed and bankrupt state, noting that the formation of the new government is considered "a step at the beginning of a difficult journey filled with risks and obstacles."
The minister emphasized "the importance of the upcoming phase with the formation of a new government, especially concerning the living conditions," indicating that "improving these conditions requires plans, support, and funding, in addition to openness and approvals from the international community."
He also pointed out that "Syria, as a new friend to everyone, needs all possible support," adding that the government will begin to set its priorities after obtaining the necessary data that was destroyed by the Assad regime.
