Mohanad Qutaish Sends a Strong Message toAhmed Al-Sharaa

Syrian actor Mohanad Qutaish delivered a direct and forceful message to the transitional period's president, Ahmed Al-Sharaa, through a video clip widely shared and circulated on social media platforms. In his remarks, Qutaish criticized officials and expressed his discontent with the current situation in Syria, particularly highlighting the tragic events in the Sweida province.
At the start of his speech, Qutaish stated: “I want to say a couple of words to President Ahmed al-Sharif, the ruler of what remains of Syria.” He continued sharply and directly: “I am the artist Mohanad Qutaish, son of Sweida. My words are equal to your words; you spoke, and everyone heard you, but the translation was wrong.”
He referred to a point from his previous speech, emphasizing that he spoke about unity and division in society, dignity that has been denied, and freedom that the people are deprived of. He added: “I spoke about you, the revolutionaries—revolutionaries who carry a thought and a pen, not tools of disgrace. They carry with their rifles a notebook of poetry, not tools of destruction and ruin.”
At the end of his message, Qutaish addressed a resolute tone: “You said you are fighters—so, who are you fighting for, and in whose interest are you struggling?” He sent a message of inquiry and protest simultaneously, expressing his sense of disappointment and the absence of justice, calling for a reconsideration of the current situation.
