Netanyahu Announces Israel's Intention to Remain in the Mount Hermon Area

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu confirmed that his country intends to stay in the occupied areas of Mount Hermon and the neighboring Syrian regions after the fall of Bashar Assad’s regime, emphasizing the strategic importance of these sites. In an interview with the Israeli Channel 14, Netanyahu stated: "We will remain in the areas we occupied in Syria and at the summit of Mount Hermon."
Regarding negotiations with the Syrian side, Netanyahu expressed Israel’s desire to reach an agreement that ensures the disarmament of the area southwest of Syria, near its borders, while emphasizing the need to protect the security of the Druze community in that region. The statement reflects Israel’s desire to safeguard its security and geographic interests amid potential changes in the Syrian situation.
