Syrian presidency affirms that violations in Sweida will not go unpunished

The Syrian presidency issued a statement on Wednesday condemning the "regrettable violations" that took place in several areas of Sweida Governorate, promising to hold accountable anyone proven to be involved in a deterrent manner.
The statement read: "The Syrian state closely and carefully monitored the recent violations in some areas of Sweida. These acts, which are criminal and illegal behaviors, cannot be accepted under any circumstances and are completely incompatible with the principles upon which the Syrian state is based."
In a different context, the presidency emphasized that the government will thoroughly investigate all incidents related to these violations and will work to hold accountable those proven to be involved. It added: "Any party responsible for these actions, whether individuals or lawless organizations, will be subject to severe legal accountability, and we will not allow them to go unpunished."
In conclusion, the presidency stressed that the highest priority for the state's leadership and institutions is to protect security and stability across all of Syria, reaffirming that justice is the standard applied in all cases. It reassured Sweida and its people that their rights will remain protected and that no party will be allowed to threaten their security or stability.
