Teachers in Sheikh Maqsoud and al-Ashrafieh Call for Resolution of Integration and Payment of Delayed Dues
A number of teachers working under the Autonomous Administration in Aleppo’s Sheikh Maqsoud and al-Ashrafieh neighborhoods called on the relevant authorities to swiftly resolve the issue of integrating them into the Ministry of Education and to pay compensation for their salaries, which have reportedly been suspended for approximately eight months.
In a complaint received by *Afrin Now*, the teachers said their salaries had been halted throughout the past months without a clear solution being reached regarding their administrative and living conditions. They noted that their case remains unresolved.
They explained that they had hoped to be included in the integration process, like teachers in other areas, but their status has yet to be settled. They added that they had been asked to transfer their files to the Education Authority in Aleppo province in preparation for completing the integration process individually.
The teachers called for compensation for the eight months of unpaid salaries and urged the authorities to reconsider requiring them to take written and oral examinations. They stressed that their years of service and experience in the two neighborhoods should be taken into consideration when establishing the integration mechanism.
The teachers called on the relevant authorities to expedite their integration into the Ministry of Education and resolve their administrative and financial status in a manner that ensures the continuity of the educational process and safeguards the rights of teaching staff.
