The death of Dr. Amal Al Bustani at the hands of thieves in her home in Al Malikiyah neighborhood
مقتل الدكتورة أمل البستاني على يد لصوص في منزلها بحي المالكي

A tragic incident shook the Damascus community, as Dr. Amal Al Bustani breathed her last after her home in Al Malikiyah was stormed and attacked by robbers, resulting in her death today, Friday. Dr. Al Bustani is a prominent figure in the fields of business and culture, recognized for her significant role in the women's and humanitarian sectors in Damascus.

Dr. Amal participated in founding the Asil Company with her late husband, Riad Al Taji, which is considered one of the leading Syrian industrial companies specializing in textiles. She was also one of the Syrian women who left a clear mark through her charitable and humanitarian efforts, contributing greatly to community support.

Dr. Amal is regarded as a symbol of love and giving, having left behind a legacy of humanitarian services and three children: Omar, Asil, and Wessam, who were buried amidst an atmosphere of grief and shock, as was the case for families and friends who knew and lived with her.

Amid ongoing phenomena of violence, security deterioration, murders, kidnappings, displacement, and declining living conditions, society continues to face diminishing protection and justice, with a lack of deterrents and strict accountability for these violations.
