The Syrian Emergency and Disaster Management Ministry Establishes a Joint Field Operations Room to Combat Fires in Latakia Countryside

The Ministry of Emergency and Disaster Management in Syria announced the formation of a joint field operations room in cooperation with several active Syrian organizations, aimed at providing logistical and field support to efforts to extinguish the ongoing fires in northern Latakia. These fires are spreading across the forests of the Syrian coast.
Minister Raed Al-Saleh explained via a post on the "X" platform that the room has begun its operations immediately by securing water transport vehicles to support firefighting teams, organizing trained volunteer teams to combat fires, and providing heavy machinery to help open fire lines and contribute to limiting the spread of the flames.
Al-Saleh praised the significant role of the participating organizations and all individuals offering aid and support amid the difficult areas and major challenges facing firefighting operations.
Civil defense teams and firefighting units have been continuing their efforts for the past four days, despite challenging weather conditions, strong winds, and remnants of war that hinder work and pose risks to the safety of personnel, delaying efforts to control the fires.
