Turkish Mujahid: Calls on Ankara to Respond to Israel, Claims Israeli Strike Targeted Turkish Presence in Syria
Social media accounts circulated statements by a Turkish man who described himself as a “mujahid” and claimed that he was in Syria, pointing to the presence of Turkish soldiers in areas of northern Syria.
The speaker alleged that the Israeli strike on the Abu al-Duhur airbase in the countryside of Idlib directly targeted the Turkish presence, without providing evidence or credible information to substantiate his claims. He also called on Turkey to wage war against Israel, citing what he described as the “wars of the Rightly Guided Caliphs.”
The identity of the speaker and the group to which he belongs remain unclear. No independent official confirmation has been issued regarding the nature of the strike or its connection to Turkish forces stationed in Syria. The statements are being circulated amid a rise in inflammatory rhetoric on social media, along with warnings against spreading unverified information that could further escalate tensions in the region.
Information concerning military sites and the parties targeted requires confirmation from official sources or reliable independent bodies. Statements made by individuals or clips circulating online alone cannot be considered sufficient evidence.
