  • We are not seeking to overthrow the Iranian regime

  •  This is the plain truth, and there is nothing surprising about their positions.
We are not seeking to overthrow the Iranian regime
Mustafa Abdul Qadir

For a long time, the West has been accustomed to our experiences with it—experiences that have always been against the interests of the peoples of the Middle East, and notably so. It shows no regard for any principles except for pursuing its expanding and multifaceted interests at the expense of the oppressed peoples, working tirelessly to create conditions conducive to achieving these interests under false pretenses such as "international peace," "regional stability and security," "counterterrorism," and other such vague, fabricated slogans lacking credible evidence. In reality, the West seeks to implement its narcissistic agenda driven by unchecked ambitions—such as expanding political influence and dominance, securing oil supplies, increasing the presence of military bases, and consolidating their presence to enable quick intervention against any opposition to their strategic plans in the region. They are fully prepared to collaborate with all dictatorial regimes to achieve these goals, regardless of their legitimacy.

The complex and intertwined nature of Western interests in the Middle East, amid ongoing regional tensions and conflicts, makes it extremely difficult to balance the interests of the regional peoples with those of the West. A quick glance at the historical series of events and conspiracies in our region—such as the end of the Cold War in the 1990s, and subsequent events like September 11, 2001, the American invasions of Afghanistan and Iraq, the July War in Lebanon, and the Arab Spring in 2010—reveals that they were orchestrated and guided by Western policies. These actions led to the overthrow of many Arab regimes. All this was planned and directed by the West, which openly declared its intention, through its officials, to redraw the map of the Middle East via what it called "constructive chaos."

If we follow Western media, it claims to support the struggle of Middle Eastern peoples for freedom and democracy. However, beneath their glamorous slogans, they see freedom and democracy merely as tools they monopolize. When these tools are used in the Middle East, they are typically exploited destructively to implement their cunning and deceptive plans. Therefore, it is no wonder that the United States claims it does not seek to change the Iranian regime—because how could it after Iran has served it so loyally by dismantling Lebanon, Iraq, Syria, Yemen, and Palestine? This has allowed the West to gain control over the region’s resources through policies of submission and blackmail. How can we then believe that the West is the one determining our fate in a way that serves our interests and guides us toward a better future? Anyone who still believes that the West is genuinely concerned with our progress and liberation from tyranny is either deluded or ignorant—blind to what is beyond his nose.

Let's recall what Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, the leader of the Iranian resistance, said when she called for the Iranian people to overthrow the regime of the Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei, after the ceasefire in the Iran-Israel war. She emphasized that the ceasefire was a step forward for the third option—neither war nor surrender. She said, “Let the Iranian people determine their future and topple Khamenei and the dictatorship themselves.” She explained that the goal is to establish a democratic, non-nuclear republic based on the separation of religion and state, gender equality, and self-governance for Iran’s diverse ethnic groups. According to Reuters, during the recent aerial war, the Iranian Resistance's National Council remained on the sidelines, limiting its disclosures as it did not want to openly support a foreign war led by Israel. However, as known, in 2002, the Council was the first to reveal Iran’s uranium enrichment program. As we understand from the policies of the Iranian Resistance’s National Council, they reject all projects aimed at destroying Iran and its people—whether through occupation or external military actions—and believe that the regime must be overthrown by the Iranian people and resistance units affiliated with the MEK (Mujahedin-e Khalq). This is all part of moving Iran toward a future based on the ten-article program endorsed by Mrs. Maryam Rajavi. Of course, the West does not favor a national solution based on the people's sovereignty.

Today, after the United States targeted Iran’s nuclear facilities and dashed the mullahs’ dream of acquiring unconventional weapons, the Iranian resistance will intensify its blessed uprising. It will work with all its might—and supported by the people—to overthrow the regime of the mullahs. This effort relies solely on its own strength and the support of the Iranian people, aiming to transform Iran’s dark face, shaped by religious tyranny heading toward collapse, into a bright future, God willing.
